AbstractAn experiment was conducted to study the correlation and path coefficient analysis of fodder yield traits in oat. In general genotypic correlation coefficients were higher than their corresponding phenotypic correlation coefficients. Green and dry fodder yields were positive and significantly correlated with plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves/plant, leaf length, leaf breadth and dry fodder yield. Path coefficient analysis showed that plant height, stem diameter, number of tillers/plant, number of leaves/plant, leaf breadth and length were the principal components of green as well as dry fodder yield. It is advocated that selection should be based on these characters for accelerating genetic improvement of fodder yield in oat.
