Abstract
Biosorption is a low cost and eco-friendly physico-chemical process, used widely now-a-days to remove metals and dyes from industrial effluents and waste waters. Many living organisms like bacteria, algae, fungi and yeasts and agricultural waters and agro waste materials have been used as biosorpants till date. In the present review an attempt has been made to discuss biosorption, its mechanism, factors affecting biosorption process and advantages of biosorption processes.
